2020 Touriga Nacional

Estate Grown & Bottled
Shenandoah Valley, California
Winemaker's Notes:
Touriga Nacional, which originated in Portugal, is the star
grape of Port wines. This grape can produce very exciting and exotic wines with
floral and leathery aromas with intense berry-like and spicy flavors.
In many ways Touriga Nacional is very much like Cabernet Sauvignon. Both varieties display dark-fruit flavors
with spicy and leather-like flavors with firm tannins. This variety is lately becoming very fashionable. It has been added to the short list of
Bordeaux varietals.
Aged in French oak barrels for 24 months, this wine has a dark
ruby red color with herbal and dark berry aromas which intensify on the palate adding
wild berry flavors with hints of pine and cedar. This is an age-worthy wine which is ready to
drink now or cellaring at least 10 years.
