Winemakers Notes:

Proprietor's Blend was the very first blended wine that I have ever made and continued making it every year since 2004.  This wine, which is released every November, became one of the Gallery Collection Club's most favorite wines.    The components that go into this wine are always the same while the composition may vary from year to year in  order to balance the wine with respect to its flavor profile.  Each component of this blend is individually aged in French oak barrels.  We create the blend about 6 months before bottling, after which the blended new wine goes back into barrels for an additional aging before bottling.  

The Cabernet Sauvignon influence in this vintage of Proprietor’s Blend is quite evident even though it only contains 35% of this variety.  This is a well-balanced, luscious wine rich in dark fruit aromas and flavors of  blackberry, black currant and cherry.  These fruit flavors carry to the finish adding nuances of cocoa. This wine has a firm structure with an abundance of tannins that stay soft through the long and sustained finish.
