2008 Zinfandel, American Legend

The Zinfandel grapes used in this wine come from Gunther’s Vineyard which is one of the best Zinfandel vineyards in this valley. This wine is dedicated to the memory of Frank Gunther who passed away a few days before the 2007 harvest. This is the second year that we are making this wine.

This wine was made in our patented “Submerged Cap Fermentation Tank” that is capable of fully extracting the flavor, color and mouthfeel components present in the grapes. The wine was then aged in predominantly French oak barrels for 10 months.

This most elegant Zinfandel is delicate and complex. It has aromas of wild flowers and blueberries with nuances of spice. On the palate you discover layers of flavors of light berries combined with floral elements. The finish is long and lasting with more fruit, chocolate and traces of black pepper. This is a light colored wine with a light to medium body that fills your mouth with a celebration of flavors.
