2007 D’Arideaux
Estate Grown & Bottled
Shenandoah Valley, California
Winemaker’s
Notes:
D’Arideaux
belongs to a class of limited production wines made from
varieties originating in different wine regions of France aged in
French oak for a minimum of 2 years and additional several years in
bottles before they are released. This wine consists of Syrah that
originated in Rhone Valley of France and Cabernet Franc, a Bordeaux
variety.
I am
excited and proud to release our 2007 D’Arideaux to the Gallery
Collection Club more than 9 years after it was bottled. It was a
great wine when I first made it and transformed to an exquisite wine
during aging. While it still maintains its New World identity, it
has acquired distinct old world qualities. This is one of the best
wines I released to my club.
In
spite of its age, this wine has a dark, dense, red color and strong
aromas of blackberry and cedar which carry to the palate acquiring
earthy, smoky, leathery and savory flavors all the way to the long
finish.
